Tom’s Midweek Greeting
Crossroads Community Church
Nevada MO
Hi, everyone! A few notes and reminders about what’s going on at Crossroads! Thank you for prayers for each other. We have much to pray for and much for which to give thanks. Specifically, let’s remember in prayer:
- Angi and Shane battling the Coronavirus. Others in our circles of family and friends who are fighting the virus or who are caring for others.
- Judy and L.J.’s grandson, Nathan, who is dealing with ongoing stomach issues and has surgery scheduled for today.
- Those in our church family in need of work.
- Those who are caring for loved ones.
Thank you! Coming up at Crossroads:
Hayride this Saturday night!
Lots of fun, starting with games and a cookout at 5:00, then a beautiful hayride through the countryside. Looks like it may cool off Saturday evening, so dress appropriately! Bring a side, a drink, and/or a dessert … and lawn chairs. Hot dogs and buns will be provided! Bring along a friend! To reach the Reedys’ home, take Hwy 54 west out of Nevada. Turn south on Hwy 43 toward Joplin. Once you pass the Moundville city limit sign, take the second left which dead ends at the Reedys’ home. Hope to see you Saturday evening!
Worship this Sunday, 10:00, at the Y.
We’ll continue our “You Asked for It” series with a sermon from Romans 6. The theme of Romans 6 is “Is it okay for a Christian to keep on sinning?” Great question, and a help for anyone who is battling an ongoing sin issue. I hope to see you Sunday morning for good worship, good fellowship, and teaching from God’s Word. As always, the sermon will be posted on the Crossroads Facebook page some time on Saturday.
We need helpers from Crossroads for the YMCA Grocery Distribution!
If you can help next weekend, October 24 and 25, either Saturday afternoon starting at 1:00, or Sunday afternoon right after church, please let Heather know. The Y is counting on 6-7 people from Crossroads to help pack groceries on Saturday afternoon, and 6-7 people to help hand out groceries on Sunday. October 24-25. Thank you for serving the community and the Lord in this way!
Nominating Committee
We have a Nominating Committee made up of Forrest Drury, Julie Kemper, Uriah Lentz, Erin Reedy, and Donna Rodriguez. They will be sharing information about their upcoming work this Sunday. We will having an opening on our Elder Board in January of next year. Shane Dahmer, who is currently on the Elder Board, is eligible to be re-nominated for that position. Let’s pray for God’s leading.
Monday Night Bible Study, this coming Monday, 7 pm.
I hope you’re connecting with the Monday Night Bible Study series. We’re having a good time going through the book The Strength You Need, by Robert J. Morgan. This Monday night our focus will be on Isaiah 40:31, “They that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength.” Feel free to join on the Crossroads Facebook page, live at 7 pm, or join a few others in person at my house, *contact us for the address*.
