TMG
Hello, Crossroads Family!
A favorite hymn of mine:
When Morning Gilds the Sky
When morning gilds the skies, my heart awaking cries: “May Jesus Christ be praised!”
Alike at work and prayer, to Jesus I repair; may Jesus Christ be praised!
The night becomes as day when from the heart we say: “May Jesus Christ be praised!”
The pow’rs of darkness fear when this sweet chant they hear: “May Jesus Christ be praised!”
In heav’n’s eternal bliss the loveliest strain is this: “May Jesus Christ be praised!”
Let earth, and sea, and sky from depth to height reply: “May Jesus Christ be praised!”
Be this, while life is mine, my canticle divine: “May Jesus Christ be praised!”
Be this the eternal song, through all the ages long: “May Jesus Christ be praised!”
I hope this is the song that’s in your heart this week. What a difference it makes when we sing it, think it, and pray it. May Jesus Christ be praised!
We’ll praise and worship the Lord Jesus this Sunday morning beginning at 10:00. It will be Palm Sunday, and we’re going to remember the Lord with a special sermon that I think will bless you and prepare you for Easter. I hope to see you this Sunday morning!
If you missed last Sunday’s service, I hope you’ll catch up by watching it on the Crossroads Facebook page. The sermon was from Psalm 37 on the subject of “Why do the wicked prosper and good people seem to suffer?”
Announcements & Reminders
Did you know…?
Did you know that last evening (Wednesday) we had our “youth group” (high school and beyond) meeting at one of our homes, and another group of younger students meeting at another home? I think that’s very exciting! We should pray regularly for all the young people at Crossroads. I’m thankful for those who disciple them, those who host, and those who provide food and friendship.
Easter Breakfast, April 17, 9:00 am
Join us Easter Sunday for breakfast at the Community Center prior to the worship service on April 17. There will also be an Easter egg hunt immediately following the worship service! Bring a friend or family member who would be blessed by being with us Easter morning!
Fellowship Night, April 24
Mark your calendar for an evening of fellowship, music, and games at Nevada Assembly of God on Sunday, April 24, starting at 5 pm. Please plan to bring with you a snack to share. Water will be provided. 2247 N. Osage.
Garage Sale
Mark and Michelle Mooneyham are hosting a church garage sale May 6-7 at their home at *contact us for their location and contact information*. This is part of the city-wide garage sale that weekend. Items you bring to the garage sale can be donated to support the Crossroads building fund, or you can let Michelle know and she will track your items so you make some extra money for your own purposes. Please price any items you bring to the sale. Items can either be brought to their home or put in the back of their truck at church on Sundays. Items left over from the sale will be donated to the Moss House.
I hope to see you this Sunday starting at 10:00 at the Community Center. Come early if you’re able. Here’s a great Palm Sunday hymn as you worship this week and prepare for worship on Sunday:
All Glory, Laud, and Honor
All glory, laud, and honor to You, Redeemer King,
To whom the lips of children made sweet hosannas ring!
You are the King of Israel, and David’s royal Son,
Now in the Lord’s name coming, the King and Blessed One!
The company of angels is praising You on high;
And we with all creation in chorus make reply.
The people of the Hebrews with palms before You went;
Our praise and prayer and anthems before You we present.
To You before Your passion they sang their hymns of praise;
To You, now high exalted, our melody we raise.
As You received their praises, accept the prayers we bring,
For You delight in goodness, O good and gracious King!
