TMG
Hello, Crossroads Family!
Just a few notes as we finish out the last week of the year!
Worship this Sunday morning, 10:00
We’ll gather for worship this Sunday morning, January 1, at the Community Center. Come join us if you’re in town this weekend! I’ll try to have the sermon posted on Facebook by the time the weekend arrives in case you won’t be with us in person.
Elders Meeting, January 15
Our elders will meet Sunday, January 15, after the worship service. We’re desirous of meeting with all ministry team leaders at the beginning of the new year, so we may be reaching out to you to schedule a time to meet with us for an update on ministry and how we can help you.
Home Group, January 15
Home Group will meet at my house, Sunday the 15th, at 6 pm. This will be one of the last two sessions on “Discovering Your Spiritual Family Tree: Church History Made Easy.” This will be an interesting and worthwhile session as we move into the history of the American Church. How did we come to be what we are today? Good fellowship too — hope you can join us!
Baby Bottle Boomerang
Birthright of Nevada has asked us to participate in their annual “Baby Bottle Boomerang” fundraiser January 22 – February 19. We are looking for someone at Crossroads who would be interested in being the point person for us.
The responsibilities would be to pick up the baby bottles from Birthright, sign them out to individuals at Crossroads, communicate with the church family, and be responsible for returning the bottles and money to Birthright at the end of the campaign. If you’re interested in serving in this way, please let me know by this coming Sunday so I can give your name to our friends at Birthright. Thank you!
Dale Losch preaching, January 8
Dale Losch, my good friend and former missionary to France, will preach in my place Sunday, January 8, while I’m in Tampa, Florida. You won’t want to miss Dale’s message. Dale and his wife Jerusha have been in ministry with Crossworld Mission for many years, and Dale currently serves as Crossworld’s president. Dale is the author of A Better Way: Make Disciples Wherever Life Happens, and Giving Outside the Box: Generous Now, Rich Forever. You can read more about Dale and Crossworld here:

Thank you!
Thank you for the very kind and generous Christmas gift I received from you! I’m grateful to be part of a caring, joyful church family! I’ve enjoyed our Advent and Christmas seasons and look forward to what God is going to do among us in the new year!
Bible Reading Plan
The Bible is a book that just seems built to be read through in a year’s time. Here’s the reading plan I’ve used for several years now. It gives some variety and allows a person to read in different places in the Bible each week. I don’t follow it exactly as it’s laid out here, though; I kind of chart my own course, but I use this plan as a guide. It might be a help to you if you want to take in God’s Word more fully this year !

God’s Lovingkindness
The Old Testament Hebrew word for “lovingkindness” is rich in meaning. Yet, even the English, “lovingkindness,” speaks powerfully to us. Here are four places, grouped close together in the psalms, where we are reminded of the lovingkindness of God. And isn’t it interesting, too, that this is in the Old Testament where many people feel God is portrayed as an angry, judging God. Actually, He is a God who never changes in any way, and one of His attributes has always been lovingkindness.
- God will send forth His lovingkindness and His truth. Psalm 57:3
- For Your lovingkindness is great to the heavens and Your truth to the clouds. Psalm 57:10
- My God in HIs lovingkindness will meet me. Psalm 59:10
- Yes, I shall joyfully sing of Your lovingkindness in the morning, for You have been my stronghold and a refuge in the day of my distress. Psalm 59:16
I hope to see you this coming Sunday morning!
