TMG
Hello, Crossroads Family!
Just a quick reminder that Home Group happens tonight, 6:00 – 7:15, at the home of Alex and Emily and Dean Lewis, *contact us for location*. I hope you can be there! The study will be from Psalm 124 whose theme is “Help” and which starts out this way:
“If God hadn’t been for us when everyone went against us, we would have been swallowed alive…!”
and which also includes this line:
“Blessed be God! He didn’t go off and leave us. He didn’t abandon us defenseless…”
If you’re like me, you may need a little taste of this psalm tonight! Plus good fellowship!
Here are a few other reminders of what’s going on at Crossroads:
Picnic after the worship service this Sunday.
Plan to come! If the weather is good, we’ll try to go to Radio Spring Park. Meat (pork and chicken) will be provided, as will paper products and water. Bring a side and/or dessert if you can, and you might bring a lawn chair too just in case we need them. Informal, a chance to get to know each other better, a chance to thank God for dads.
Elders
Our elders had a good meeting after the service last Sunday. Dave will provide us with a short report this coming Sunday.
Congregational Meeting
Mark your calendar for a congregational meeting Sunday, August 20, following the worship service. It will be a chance for us to re-connect, plan, and pray as we begin the fall season. Thank you!
Women of Joy
Don’t forget to be in contact with Heather Hall if you’d like to attend the Women of Joy conference in Branson in October! The deadline for early, reduced-price registration is coming up.
Thanks!
Thanks to everyone who helped in the concession stand at Gospel Night for Bushwhacker Days last week!
Worship this Sunday morning
This Sunday’s sermon is shaping up to be a powerful one. Considering that the events described in Revelation 20 are the very final events to take place on Planet Earth as we know it, it will be important to give consideration to this chapter. These final events — the 1000-year reign of Christ on the earth ; the surprising return of Satan ; and the Great White Throne judgment — are momentous events God says are coming up in the future, but they also lead us to some important understandings about ourselves today. I hope you’ll join us for good worship and learning from the Bible. 10:00 at the Community Center. If you can’t be there in person, the sermon will be posted on Facebook.
Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength” (Mark 12:30).
