Dear Church Family:
We will worship this coming Sunday morning at the Community Building at Marmaduke Park, 600 W. Highland Ave.
We will not be at Riverside Cowboy Church this Sunday due to a couples weekend being held there.
Plan to join the church family — and bring a friend — this Sunday to the little white community building at Marmaduke Park. We’ll have a great time! And we’ll continue our “You Asked For It” sermon series. This Sunday: How do we navigate through the various seasons and stages of life? Are you feeling a little bit “stuck” in life, … or is your vision for the future a little cloudier than it used to be? We’ll get some help from Psalm 90. (If you’re unable to be with us Sunday, the sermon will be posted by Saturday evening on the Crossroads Facebook page.)
Update on Our Search for a Home
We are interested in finding a rental location in Nevada, or within a mile of the city limits. Would you please help be our eyes and ears for such a possibility? If you hear of something, please let Cris or one of the other elders know.
In the meantime, the Community Center is still trying to make it possible for us to have services there on Sunday mornings. There would be a lot of positives about meeting at the Community Center. A main hindrance right now is that they would like a staff person to be present when we meet. Currently they are understaffed. Please pray that God might provide a solution to this problem, and that He would give us clear guidance and unity as we seek a place. Thank you!
We now have a Nominating Committee that will help guide us through the election for elder which will take place at our congregational meeting in January. Members of the Nominating Committee are Jessica Baker, Angi Dahmer, Julie Kemper, Erin Reedy, and Donna Rodriguez. Cris will help guide the committee through their work as a representative of the current Elder Board. Thank you for praying for this team as they begin their work!
We welcome Ryan and Michaela Walker as new members at Crossroads! Ryan and Michaela are joined by Axton and Adley. The Walkers have already been a blessing to us in many ways, and we look forward to serving the Lord together going forward! We will receive Ryan and Michaela “officially” at an upcoming worship service.
Home Group this Sunday, 6:00 pm
We would love to have you join us this Sunday evening, even if you’ve not been with us or have missed. “Goliath Must Fall” is our video study. We’re identifying “giants” in our lives and recognizing Jesus as the giant-slayer. This Sunday evening we’ll take a look at the giant of anger.
All Crossroads young people (and your friends), mark October 27 on your calendar for the next Youth Group. Fun, friends, food, and inner refreshment! Meet at Cris and Donna’s, 6:30 pm, *contact us for location*.
Thanksgiving Dinner, November 21
We’re planning to celebrate Thanksgiving together following worship on Sunday, November 21. More details coming, or contact Michaela.
I’ve enjoyed an early morning prayer session the past two weeks with Pastor Jeff Robinson and his wife, Tina, of First Christian Church in Nevada, and with Pastors Mickey and Robin Russell of Nevada Assembly of God. Know that, as a member of Crossroads Church, you were prayed for today!
Thank you for being part of the family!
See you this Sunday morning, 10 am, at the Community Building at Marmaduke Park!
