Tom’s Midweek Greeting
Crossroads Community Church
Nevada MO
Hello, Crossroads Family!
I’m thinking of you and praying for you today. We have such a variety of people in our church! And each of you has a large network of family relationships and friendships; you’re working and serving in so many unique places and situations. It really gives us a lot to pray about for each other! I’m glad we have a listening Father! These verses from the middle sections of Isaiah were an encouragement to me today:
“Behold, I will do something new. Now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it?” Isaiah 43:19
“I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, and I will not remember your sins.” Isaiah 43:25
“Remember the former things long past, for I am God, and there is no other. I am God, and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things which have not been done, saying ‘My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure…’” Isaiah 46:9-10
And, of course, our “strength” verses from the past two Monday Night Bible Studies are an ongoing help to me:
“As your days, so shall your strength be.” Deuteronomy 33:25
“For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9
Our “Your Asked For It” sermon series is set! I look forward to being with you this Sunday for worship at 10:00, and for our first message in the new series! Here is the schedule of “You Asked For It” sermons:
- 27 Is God For Donald Trump or Joe Biden?
- 4 Understanding God and the Trinity
- 11 Raising Great Kids
- 18 Romans 6 : Our Union With Christ
- 25 The Coming Tribulation
This will be a fun series of sermons and will, I believe, challenge us and minister to us! Thanks for your input! The sermons will be posted on the Crossroads Community Church Facebook page on Saturday afternoons for those who are not able to join us on Sundays.

Food Distribution at the Y: Can You Help This Sunday?
Thank you for your cooperation and patience with the new food program that’s happening at the Y on Sundays. As we come and go for worship, it’s an opportunity for us to bless and interact with others who are, for a time, sharing the space with us. We can still find room for fellowship before and after the service. We’re enjoying good times of worship, so I encourage you to come if you’re able, and to bring a friend. Be sure to dress warmly! The Y is asking if 6 or 7 people from Crossroads could help hand out food this Sunday (9/27) after our worship service. Could you help? If you think you can, shoot me a text (573-821-3565) or email so I can know we have the number of people they’re asking for. Thank you!
No Crossroads Connection this Sunday
Due to the extra activity at the Y, we have canceled Crossroads Connection for this Sunday.
Monday Night Bible Study
Our study this coming Monday night will be from Nehemiah 8:10, “The Joy of the Lord is Your Strength.” 7:00-7:45 pm live on Facebook, or join a few others at my house, 628 W. Arch Street! We’ll have a short discussion time and prayer after the study.
Discipleship
Did you know that between members of Crossroads and friends you have reached out to, we have at least 17 people involved in regular discipleship? That, plus our Home Group and a Young Adult Group that meet around once a month. Plus, many from Crossroads and other places are joining us for Monday Night Bible Study and weekend sermons online! It’s exciting to see God meeting people and growing people spiritually. Let me know how you need or want to plug in!
Thank You
Thanks to our new Nursery Team headed up by Michaela Walker! We appreciate you and the service you’re giving under less-than-ideal conditions!!
I hope to see you this Sunday at 10:00 at the Y!
